2018: A Year of Growth
We’ve rebooted. 2017, for many of us, was a challenging year. Several of us had things that slipped, including our dedication to our West Texas Chapter of the Association for Talent Development.
We’re back. We have a new board, comprised mainly of my fellow co-owners at a delightful experiment, friendsTED.com, and the amazing Stephanie West. Mike Ryan remains an integral part of our budding re-success, as do Heather Smith and all the other folks who have grown and supported our sliver of the ATD world through the years.
We’re moving forward. Beginning in June, we plan to offer brown bag, BYOL (Bring Your Own Lunch), quick-hitting, 30-minute presentations. These will be directed primarily at training professionals but also encompass large segments of our West Texas business community. Our 30-minute quick-hits will be held once a month on the 2nd Tuesday through November at Tyler Technologies (5519 53rd Street, 1st floor), where I work, over the traditional noon to 1 p.m. (starts at 12:15 p.m.) lunch hour. We are still finalizing the calendar, but here's the best part: they’re FREE.
We’ll be (1) taking donations, and (2) asking anyone interested in joining our local ATD to join and consider becoming a Power Member (national and local membership). Be on the lookout for upcoming membership incentives!
As an added perk, ATD members from 2017 receive free local membership for 2018!
Thank you for hanging with us through a tough year. Thank you for your patience. Here’s to an incredible rest of 2018.
